“ I stopped by Gemina today, right on the corner of 14th Street and First Avenue, and left genuinely happy. The place is incredibly cozy, warm, and welcoming. Their bakery selection is surprisingly good and fresh, with everything from classic pastries to pastel de nata straight out of a Lisbon daydream. It’s the perfect address for a quiet coffee break or a quick pause in the day. ”

“ Now this is a place I was personally looking forward to try because I walk by almost everyday and always wanted to stop when I have to sit and enjoy that lovely little greenish coffee shop either such beautiful nata cakes on display ! Today I did , though I had no time , but I ordered a salmon avocado bagel and a nata of course to try what seems like their specialty. The bagel had white bread only , and if they had other options I wish they offered because they don’t have a selection display . Overall the bagel still tasted fine and the bread seemed fresh which is good because it’s never my first choice . The nata was just ok tbh , I had many in my life and this one lacked crispiness and was a touch too sweet , I think . All this is unimportant if the customer service was good ( the staff was almost rude and I opted for cash tips that I put in the jar which means they saw nothing in the bill . They both kept on checking and giving me the nasty you cheap look , I was so tempted to say I did tip . Overall disappointing ”

If you are a tourist looking for authentic NYC? Go here. I had the Gluten free tort, delicious with a hint of lemon. But the true sign of excellence? The heart underneath the lid of my latte. Happy discovery! ”

“ Not a bad coffee shop and has a good sitting area. Did not stay to drink my coffee but it looked like a nice area to do your own thing but it’s rather small. The cappuccino was nice, regular coffee prices seemed a bit on the higher side, although the seasonal variations seemed pretty fair. The Bourekas looked really good, I might go back to try those. ”

“ Really good spot with some great coffee — never had a bad cup here. The baristas are very nice and welcoming. They treat their regulars very nice. It’s cozy and you can either work on your laptop or spend time chatting with friends. I tried my first Turkish coffee here, and I liked it. ”
